Atlanta

"Take a good look my dear. It's an historic moment you can tell your grandchildren about - how you watched the Old South fall one night."

- Rhett Butler, Gone With the Wind

Sherman's march to the sea that would end the Civil War by destroying Confederate infrastructure starts in a furious battle here north of Atlanta.

I arrived here around 4 p.m. on a beautiful day to see a crowded parking lot and people everywhere hiking, biking, enjoying being with friends. The Phoenix rises.

Stone Mountain is a popular resort outside Atlanta. The Confederate leaders are carved in stone: Lee, Jackson, Davis.

Contra dancing is popular in Atlanta!

Fun fun fun
