Flannery O'Connor lived here with her parents as a small child. The day I arrived a group of her fans celebrated her birthday, March 25, 1925.

This is a monument to the Pole, Count Pulaski who helped General Washington during the Revolutionary War.
I did read the novel, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, before arriving in Savannah, but can't say I saw any of those characters, just the famous house.
Down by the riverfront is this place where Robert Louis Stevenson is said to have written Treasure Island.
Inside this building is a restaurant and a gift shop with lots of pirate booty.
I have seen very few alligators on this trip.
But I did study this drawing by Europeans of American natives who knew how to tackle these creatures!
