Revisiting Colonial Williamsburg

I was here only one short afternoon. My last visit was in 1986. Not much has changed!

Williamsburg sets a very high bar for living history sites. Upon entering I was given the program listings for Colonial Williamsburg for the week of April 29 to May 5, 2013. The offerings are simply tremendous; you immerse yourself in history in this place.

An example of the many offerings (that I didn't do): ORDER IN THE COURT - Participate in a re-enactment of an 18th c. Trial; TANTALIZING TABLEWARE - Take an in-depth tour of the ceramics collection at the DeWitt Mueum; DISGRACED ACTOR, SUSPECTED LOYALIST inside the Raleigh Tavern. Hear the story of actor Thomas Wall, former prisoner of war, and his hopes for redemption; HANDEL & BACH - Enjoy music by composers who were well-known to our colonial founders.

These offerings and more took place between I p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd. Every day is different; there is plenty to keep busy.

It was fun to remember my visit 27 years ago. I hope to visit here again when I have time and lots of money,
